Description
Solid Gold sheet over brass handle cane/walking stick 1850-1910.
Presentation cane handles were made with a solid sheet of Gold over brass in repousse work which is metal punched from the reverse side to create the design on the metal and then soldered together in pieces to make a heavier weight. These gold sheet handles were primarily made in The United States. The ebonized hardwood shaft is 35.5"L. The brass/steel ferrule is 1.25". Marked "HHB Feb 25/88 from his employs". Excellent condition with age related wear.
