A charcoal double sided sketch of a reclining nude man and a reclining nude woman, by French Canadian painter, draughtsman, engraver and illustrator Clarence Alphonse Gagnon, R.C.A. (1881-1942), well known for his landscape paintings and the illustrations for Louise Hemons novel Maria Chapdelaine. In 1913, during the Art Nouveau Belle Epoque era, he exhibited at galleries in the Montmartre district in Paris. Stamped ATELIER GAGNON.
