1 Very large Late 18th C., early 19th C. painting under glass Horse button, very rare.
This button came from a family member but originally from the collection of George and Viviane Ertell (Viviane wrote the book, The Colorful World of Buttons).Viviane stated this button originally came from the French collection of D'Allmagne a very famous collection. The button is a colorful hand painted natural material disk set under glass and set in a brass rimmed mounting. The Horse and background scene are finely painted and this would add nicely to any collection as wll as one who collects animal buttons or Horse buttons.
Issued: DIVISION 1=PRE 1918 AND DIVISION 3 IS AFTER 1918
Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4". Large=1 1/4" and above, extra large=1 3/4" and above
