Two beautiful early Victorian memorial mourning pendant pins, created to commemorate loved ones by preserving samples of their hair. The larger pin has a swivel mechanism that allows the central pendant to turn on its axis; total weight approx. 39 grams; 2.75"L x 2.5"W. The smaller pin is fully engraved to the back with the names of the two people commemorated and the dates they passed. IN MEMORY OF ELIZABETH RINDER, DIED JAN. 22, 1859, AGED 72. ALSO BEATRICE SMITH, DIED OCTOBER 25, 1855, AGED 50. With pin backing and ring for chain; total weight approx. 16 grams; 1.75"L x 2"W.
