Titled Suffolk Cottage, an impressionist painting of a serene country side cottage. Artist signed and dated 1881 bottom left. Sight: 10.75 inches tall by 13.75 wide. Framed: 14.25 inches tall by 18.25 inches wide.
Framed in a gilt wood English Chippendale frame. Original board label, and Registration number are attached to the back of the board. About the artist: Harris was a popular landscape artist who lived and worked in his native Birmingham and later settled in London. His works today can be seen in the Surrey museums of Farnham and Chertsey, Henley Town Hall in Oxfordshire and the National Trust property of Newark Park in Gloucestershire. From 1879-1900 he showed an impressive 50 paintings at The Royal Society of British Artists, mainly comprising landscapes, river scenes and marines.
