A framed original oil on canvas painting, signed and dated by 20th century marine artist and yacht architect Jack Hargrave (d. 1997), who changed the direction of yachting when, in 1959, he was commissioned to design the world�s first large fiberglass sportfishing yacht. Launched in 1960 to universal acclaim, the resulting craft marked the beginning of Hatteras Yachts and the birth of an industry. This original work of art was painted by Hargrave as a gift for a client who's yacht, the depicted YACHT MARIE, the artist had designed. Artist signed dated JB HARGRAVE 12-53 to lower right.
