A superlative bronze figure of Gautama Buddha, depicted�in lotus position, his head topped by the Ushnisha, or crown of hair, represented in tight curls and one of the most unique features of Buddhist art and iconography. Its original function was to symbolize a crown on Buddha's head. The�figure is draped in ornate curling folds of the Mandalay style with traces of the original lacquer. Olive patination.
