Striking ink and crayon drawing on ecru paper made with bold colors markers and bright crayons attributed to Expressionist artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. This artwork depicts Basquiat's self-portrait looking at Captain America who is set between four slave traders, a banana and a topless woman. Basquiat included the words: Brooklyn, New York, Hollywood Africans, Rotten, Tits, Whittes (sic). Signed on the lower center in blue: King SAMO and in green: Jean Michel Basquiat. Stamped on verso: This will certify that it is the oblation of the Authentication Committee of the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat it is a genuine work by JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT. Signed in brown crayon: J-M-B, with crown design. Housed in a brushed silver wooden frame with a white mat. Frame size: 17.10"L x 21"H x 1.10"W. Artwork dimensions: 8.50"W x 13"H. Certificate of Authenticity included.
