Lithograph titled Secret Writing. Signed lower right, numbered 112/150. Sight size 21.75" x 29". Moshe Castel was born in Jerusalem in 1909 to Sephardic Jewish family descended from Spain. He was greatly influenced by European masters Rembrandt, Velasquez, Delacroix and Courbert. The subject of Castel's early paintings were scenes of Sephardic Jews in the Holy Land. A large collection of Castel's artwork can ve viewed at the Moshe Castel Museum of Art outside of Jerusalem.�
