Forty-eight 10/100 ports wire up your workstations, while the four integrated 10/100/1000 ports connect to other switches and the backbone at Gigabit speeds. The miniGBIC ports allow future expansion through alternate transmission media like optical fiber. All of the 10/100 ports on the Switch support pre-standard and IEEE 802.3af standard (802.3af) Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities. Each port can detect connected prestandard and 802.3af-compliant network devices, such as IP phones or wireless access points, and automatically supply the required DC power.
