An antique original early 20th century Columbia Grafonola gramophone machine and wood decor cabinet, produced c. 1918 by Columbia Graphophone Company. Cast metal tone arm. Original antique handle crank. Wheeled decorative wooden legs. Inner metal locking hinge. Hundreds of original vintage and antique stylus needles included. Includes seven original antique folios with dozens of RCA, Columbia, Decca, and other early 20th century vinyl disc records, various historic recording artists. The name gramophone indicates that it was manufactured to play sounds using vinyl records, as contrasted with a phonograph, which refers to a machine that plays sounds using wax cylinders. The Columbia Grafonola was introduced in 1907 as an internal horn alternative to the same company's external horn Disc Graphophones. Antique patina.
