Description
Mixed metals of copper and brass abstract wall sculpture. Authentic signature sticker in verso. William Friedle and his brother Bruce crafted unique works of metal art in their New York City shop during the early 1960s. They specialized in creating brass and copper abstract sculptures. They were most known for their sunburst designs which started a movement throughout the 60s. Their metal sculptures were popular in Hollywood during the 60s and appeared in various movies and TV shows of that time. Their sunburst design was featured in the opening credits of the popular TV series The Van Dyke Show (1961-1966). William Friedle retired in the very early 70s and Bruce continued until his last show, World Art Exp, NYC in 1985 which featured his later American Whimsical Folk art.
