Description
Detailed print on paper depicting a hound pursuing a pheasant bursting from its brushy hideout. Brown & Bigelow printed to top left; title and artist signature printed to bottom border. Fred McCaleb was born in Louisiana in 1893 and was a prominent sports and outdoor illustrator in the first half of the 20th century. He was known for his elegant dry-point etchings depicting sporting dogs and was an artist for Field and Stream magazine. Cream-colored mat board with black painted wood frame. Sight size: 15.25"W x 12.5"H; frame: 16.25"W x 13.75"H x 0.5"D.
