Delicately hand-painted Indo-Aryan miniatures depicting a polo match and a lion hunt. On the upper part, two polo players in a stylized landscape fight for the ball. The artist used dark blue, mustard yellow, greens and warm browns tones for the scene framed by a disk painted with flowers and arabesques. Below, hunters on horseback have encircled two lions that are fighting fiercely. Signed in black on upper right side of the circular painting: R L (and illegible Arabic writing). Sight size upper painting: 7.50"dia. Housed in an elaborate gilded frame with cream linen covered mat and dark blue background. Sight size lower painting: 8.50"L x 2.50"H. Frame size: 15.60"L x 19.50"H x 4"W.
