Hand made and hand decorated figure of a mythical character in European, mainly Scandinavian, folklore who is known to put people to sleep and encourage beautiful dreams. This particular Sandman is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, Ole Lukoje. The Sandman is seen holding two umbrellas; one with pictures inside to give good children beautiful dreams, and the other blank which he would hold over naughty children to sleep heavily with no dreams.
