Fascinating historical engraved map originally drawn by prolific 18th-century geographer T. Jefferys. The map shows not only the political division in Africa in the 18th century but also tribal regions. Map also identifies the "Slave Coast" just north of what is now the Gulf of Guinea. Text in lower left corner reads: Africa Drawn from the best Maps by T. Jefferys, Geographer to his Royal Highness Prince of Wales. Printed for Gentleman's Magazine in 1748.
