An exceptional George V period ceramic and sterling silver match striker, hallmarked for Stokes & Ireland Ltd, Chester, 1924. The piece features a textured body designed to strike matches with ease and three polished sterling silver rims encircling the vessel, including the top opening. The silver is hallmarked with clear Chester assay marks and the maker's mark G&S for Stokes & Ireland Ltd. The underside bears the impressed Royal Doulton logo and model number 9525.
