A rare autographed 3x5 card signed by Charles A. Bassett II, an American astronaut and United States Air Force officer. Charles A. Bassett II was selected as part of NASA's Astronaut Group 3 in 1963 and was slated to pilot the Gemini 9 mission. Tragically, Bassett passed away in a plane crash on February 28, 1966, alongside fellow astronaut Elliott See while approaching Lambert Field in St. Louis, Missouri, for Gemini spacecraft training. His untimely death makes memorabilia associated with him extremely scarce and highly collectible. This signed card is preserved in excellent condition and represents a poignant piece of space exploration history. A must-have for collectors of NASA or astronaut memorabilia.
