Description
3 Small 19th century very detailed Japanese pottery buttons. These three small detailed Satsuma buttons with lots of gold depicts a meaning that our Tin Dang has once again explained for us the meaning of these depictions. The Crane in flight represents the faithful people, the red sun represents the symbol of the new beginning as Japan was called the land of the rising sun. The ocean represents success in your life. The entire meaning of the design represents good fortune and good wishes to the person being presented a gift. This button lot and two others in the auction are all from the collection of the late Pauline Lum of California. Notice the price sticker on the back image as these were purchased many years ago and obviously were prized in her collection. A very fine and scarce Satsuma button.
